Bucars RV Centre Celebrates 65 Years with Prestigious Award and Community Engagement

In a significant milestone for Calgary’s recreational vehicle (RV) community, Bucars RV Centre recently celebrated its 65th anniversary. This event not only commemorated over six decades of dedicated service but also highlighted the dealership’s receipt of the Diamond Service Award from Newmar, marking a first for any Canadian RV dealership.

Established in 1959, Bucars RV Centre has grown to become a cornerstone of the RV industry in Alberta, known for its extensive sales and service offerings. The dealership boasts one of the largest sales and service lots in Western Canada, with 16 acres and 16 full-service bays, alongside the country’s largest RV parts department.

The anniversary celebrations were held at Bucars’ Balzac location, offering a weekend of family-friendly activities, including face painting, balloon animals, and marshmallow roasting. The event underscored Bucars’ commitment to the community, featuring spin-to-win prizes and more than $3,000 in giveaways, with a $1,000 grand prize drawing significant attention.

A key component of Bucars’ success has been its innovative “Bucars U” program. Launched to make RV ownership more accessible, the program offers free seminars on RV basics, trailer towing, and maintenance practices. 

This initiative reflects the dealership’s dedication to customer education and support, ensuring RVers of all experience levels can enjoy their lifestyle with confidence, according to a press release.

Jeff Redmond, owner of Bucars RV Centre, noted a significant demographic shift in RV ownership, with a growing trend among younger Canadians. According to Redmond, more than 67% of RVers are now under the age of 55, highlighting the broad appeal of RVing as a way to escape the stresses of everyday life. 

This observation is supported by data indicating that Canadian RV owners and renters took an estimated 8.8 million RV trips in 2017, a number that has continued to rise, showcasing the increasing popularity of RV travel.

The dealership’s recent accolade, the Diamond Service Award from Newmar, recognizes Bucars’ achievement of more than 95% customer satisfaction among Newmar RV purchasers. This award, as reported by Globe Newswire, sets Bucars apart as the first Canadian dealership to earn this distinction, underscoring their exceptional service and customer care.

Kyle Redmond, also an owner of Bucars, expressed pride in the dealership’s continuous efforts to enhance customer satisfaction. This dedication has been acknowledged through various industry awards, including the Top 50 Dealers Award, which Bucars has received for nine consecutive years.
